Heather's Journey

Heather started The Tattooed Therapist to create a healing practice that empowers individuals on their journey to wellness, while at the same time, challenging the stereotypical experience of therapy by introducing holistic and client-centered approaches to healing. Heather strives to serve her clients with guidance, encouragement, and direction so that they may achieve goals, discover one's authentic self, cultivate self-compassion, develop an increased self-awareness, and grow creatively by providing mental health services, counseling and psychotherapy, and integrative care.

Heather received a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Integrated Healthcare from Metropolitan State University of Denver and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and Applied Psychology from Regis University. She is a certified HeartMath Practitioner and has received the Heart Rate Variability Certificate of Completion through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA).

Heather has served as a Red Cross Disaster Mental Health First Responder across the Mountain West and Pacific Island regions; supported organizations seeking to reduce the stigma of mental health in the workplace; and continues to promote strategic holistic mental health wellness initiatives.

With roots in somatic therapy, mindfulness, and Buddhism, Heather offers therapy that is grounded in scientific research, while utilizing a holistic psychotherapeutic approach to healing that will support your entire being: mind, body and spirit. By integrating the time-tested sciences of holistic health with modern psychotherapy, she supports her clients in reaching optimal wellness, maintaining balance, and finding contentment in life.

More: Heather enjoys connecting with the outdoors - on land and underwater, traveling, a good cup of coffee, and spending time with friends and family.
