Where you are seen, heard, and valued

all for being uniquely you.

Do you ever feel trapped by the day’s tasks and doubt your ability to make it through them? Do you feel like you’re just going through the motions while being weighed down in the process?

Perhaps you find yourself saying, “I’m tired” a lot as an excuse for your low mood or become quiet because you don’t have the energy to talk. Have you been told to “snap out of it” or that depression is an excuse or something one “chooses” to get? Maybe you find yourself using your phone excessively because – let’s face it – sometimes it’s easier to hide our struggles online. Are you, or your partner(s) ready for change?

Depression isn’t always at 3am when you’re alone with your thoughts. Sometimes it’s at 3pm when you’re surrounded by friends in the middle of laughing; or keeping conversations at “surface level” because you’re scared anything deeper will reveal how you really feel.

Anxiety isn’t always just feeling nervous. Sometimes it’s not trusting yourself and your surroundings – feeling completely out of control; overthinking everything (the past, a recent conversation, the future, etc.); or having the “logical” side of your brain tied up and having your “emotional” side take over and run free, destroying everything.

Depression and anxiety aren’t always how they look in the media. They are often invisible, yet real illnesses with symptoms that can cause significant disruption to one’s day-to-day living. They are unpredictable and can impact EVERYthing.

If you are seeking to be seen, heard, and valued all for being uniquely you – you are in the right place! At The Tattooed Therapist, you are encouraged to show up as you are, without judgement. I believe that when we authentically connect to ourselves, we connect to that which is beyond ourselves. I work with clients struggling with anxiety and depression and specialize in grief and loss, PTSD, and intergenerational family trauma. As an allied LGBTQ+ therapist, I also work with a variety of couples and relationship dynamics, including polyamory.

Specializing in Anxiety, Depression
& Intergenerational Family Dynamics

Just like anger, sadness, and joy, anxiety is a normal human experience. In fact, we need some healthy anxiety to help us stay driven and motivated. Together, we will explore habits of the mind, body, and heart to understand how anxiety is affecting your choices and different parts of your life. How are your thoughts shaping the way you see yourself, your relationships, and the world as a whole? What impact do physical habits—what you eat, how much or little you move, and how you breathe—have on your thoughts and emotions? How do you connect with others? And what do you need to feel like you belong and are loved?

Individual Therapy

By exploring how we interpret the world, we can uncover the parts of ourselves that we want to celebrate and the parts of ourselves that we wish to change. I provide a warm, comfortable, therapeutic environment to help you develop a deeper understanding of your feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and relationships, allowing you to identify and break out of unproductive patterns. You can make positive and lasting change in your life, increase your happiness, and improve your well-being.

When you're depressed, you may feel like there's no way out. Nothing seems to work, no matter what you try. I understand that you may be feeling hopeless and defeated because of your depression, but I am here to help.

At The Tattooed Therapist, I treat the whole person. I offer a safe and supportive space to heal and explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I take an integrative, soul-centered approach to depression therapy, so we can get to the root cause of your depression and heal you from the inside out.

Relationship & Couples Counseling

The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. I can help you create the life and relationship you really want. An intimate partnership can be both a powerful, resilient bond and also a fragile balancing act. I provide a supportive environment to help you establish an open, honest dialogue and help you find your way in navigating challenges, resolving conflict, collaborating on your shared life together, as well as create opportunities for learning and growing in relationship to self and others.

Grief & Loss

Has a difficult loss left you questioning yourself or your future? Are you overwhelmed by grief and sorrow? Perhaps you were caught off guard by a sudden loss, career-change, or medical diagnosis, and your sense of safety and confidence has been shattered. Or maybe you thought you were prepared for the change, but now it feels like there’s a dark cloud overhead and a heavy weight on your chest. Throughout our work together, and whether we meet in-person or online, I foster a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your needs without fear of judgment.

Intergenerational Family Dynamics

Intergenerational family dynamics is an important factor in understanding yourself as well as understanding your family. This includes developing an appreciation for intergenerational trauma in your family and how it affects you

One of the ways I do this is by creating a genogram with my clients. Think of a family tree but with emotions, events and patterns instead of pictures. A good genogram provides a rich history of family nuances. They help explain how patterns and problems evolve and why they are often repeated through the generations.
